We recently bought our first house. It was in complete disrepair as an elderly lady had lived in it for many, many years. The old boiler was a floor standing boiler in the kitchen and was not only a beast but took up valuable.
As we planned to start a family we got planning permission to extend upstairs to add 2 more bedrooms. We had limited space, so Sam came up with the bright idea of converting the system to a combination boiler and putting it on the loft. This has provided us with much needed extra space. He also put in 8 new radiators and a towel rail all of which look great. As well as this he put in all new pipe work which was necessary as a lot of the pipe work was clipped to the skirting boards and upstairs was a one pipe system.
He removed all visible pipe work to under floor level with minimal disruption. Plus he moved pipes connecting ground floor to first floor to the same place as the incoming mains water and hot water. Thus it's all conveniently together boxed in. There's very little visible pipes to radiators. All that can be seen is necessary and neat.
Our main concern before committing was that he was from a different company to the rest of the trades who were all from one company. We needn't have worried. He'll definitely be back next year to service our boiler.
